The Joint Degree/Diploma program in Communications combines University of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV (UW) courses with the two-year Creative Communications Diploma from RRC Polytech for a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. This cooperative approach takes advantage of the expertise of both institutions, combining a well-rounded liberal arts education with applied training.

Generally, students begin at UW, completing at least 60 credit hours (2 years) before proceeding to RRC Polytech, where they take the two-year Creative Communications Program. The final 12 credit hours of UW courses can be taken at the same time as the Creative Communications Program if the student wishes to graduate within four years; otherwise, they may be completed before or after attending RRC Polytech.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Students must apply and pay an application fee to The University of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV AND RRC Polytech separately and meet the admission requirements for both institutions. Students applying to ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV will select Joint Communications on the undergraduate application form.

You are advised to apply to the RRC Polytech start date you wish to attend once it is advertised on their website: . Students starting their studies at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV will typically apply to the RRC Polytech intake two years after they start the program at UW. The annual RRC Polytech application intake opens on March 1 and closes the following February 28.  For example, for the Fall 2024 start date, applications will be accepted between March 1, 2023 and February 28, 2024. You may start your Bachelor of Arts at UW without having applied or been accepted to RRC Polytech. Note that RRC Polytech does not reserve seats for joint degree students.
