Welcome to the University of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s Faculty of Education!
The University of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV is located on Treaty 1 territory and the traditional homeland of the Métis Nation. We recognize the contributions of all Indigenous peoples of Canada and the world, with a focus on and commitment to reconciliation. In the Faculty of Education, we are dedicated to academic excellence and student success. We draw on the expertise of faculty members who are renowned researchers and from experienced teachers in the education profession and allied fields. We know that our students greatly benefit from the knowledge and practice of our faculty and academic staff.
The Faculty of Education offers a variety of pathways to becoming a classroom teacher in Manitoba, including a five year integrated Bachelor of Education and a two year after degree program. The Faculty of Education offers a Bachelor of Arts in Developmental Studies, which creates opportunities for advancement in the areas of early-childhood care and learning. The University of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV also collaborates with Red River College Polytechnic in featuring the Applied Commerce Education, Industrial Arts/Technology Education and Technical/Vocational Education Programs.
The Faculty offers post graduate opportunities for in-service teachers and other educators in the form of a Post Baccalaureate Diploma Program in Education. Additionally housed within our faculty, the Master of Marriage and Family Therapy degree is a clinical degree designed for students who are looking to access quality education and training as counselors with a specialty in systemic/relationship therapy. The Marriage and Family Therapy program is accredited by COAMFTE (Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education) and provisionally accredited by CAMFT (Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy).
