The well attended virtual event was moderated by Angela Failler and featured Matt McManus as a respondent.

Hannan’s most recent work grapples with the implications of trolling on democracy and civic discourse on social media and beyond:

“Asking how we might extend Neil Postman's classic analysis in Amusing Ourselves to Death to our new era of digital demagogues and political trolls was a fun, if at times disconcerting, intellectual exercise. I hope the book resonates with a wide audience. Many thanks to CRiCS for hosting a fun book launch!"

Jason Hannan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Rhetoric, Writing, and Communications at the University of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV and a former Acting Director at CRiCS.

CRiCS looks forward to supporting more of the important scholarship emerging from our growing membership.
